The Dunlop Q3 and Q2 on my old CBR both had little cracks in them and the brand new tires on my car have little cracks as well. well as far as I can tell that's normal with any tire.

You might hear some stuff about the tires cracking. A lot of guys also put them on 18"/21" dirt bike wheels to get the grip and performance of a supermoto without having to fork up the big bucks for 17" rims. If you're worried about grip when being pushed, this is a really popular tire with vintage racers. I'd say go for it if you want a street tire that performs well and gets great tire life. They've also seen tons of two up and I generally ride the heck out of the bike, WOT a lot, skidding to stops, etc. I don't religiously check my tire pressures either so more often than not they're a bit lower than they should be for seeking optimum tire life. It was also my first bike so these tires held up to the test of me being a noob as well. This bike has been daily ridden whether it's 15 degrees out or 105 degrees out, rain or shine, heck I've even ridden it in snow and off road. I've never tracked the bike with them, but on the street I've never had any sort of grip problems. Keep in mind my 500 also weighs 440lbs wet, vs the ninjettes 370?Īs for their performance, it's great. I expect the rear to last to 10k like the first one did, but I ran that one to 11k and by then had some cord showing lol. Front will probably last me another 2-3k, heck maybe more. Still on the first front, about 5k on the 2nd rear. I've got AM26 road riders on my 500, have had them for the past 16,000 miles. Price wise (Quick search/haven't looked for the best deals) for the rearsīeing only ~$20 difference in the price of these tires isn't really an issue so I'm not to worried about the cost.įinally is there another tire you would recommend instead of these three? I need something that lasts, as my bike is my only transportation, and a tire that works well in the rain(my bike see's everything from rain to slush and snow)Īs of right now I'm leaning towards going with the AM26s again as I'm happy with how many Km I'm getting out of them, but would like to hear from others that have been running the Sport demons and BT45s and would love to hear from someone that's have ridden with the Avon's to compare them with the others. I'm happy with them and may go with them again but I would like some input on what you guys think of the Sport Demons, and BT45 tires. I'm currently running it with Avon AM26 and have gotten 29,000km out of the rear(130/70-17) and the front(110/70-17) is still okay with 23,000km on it. It sure was a rough winter.īut now that spring is here I need some new tires for my 09 Ninja 250. Hi fellow riders, hope you're enjoying spring.
